Bangboo — All

41 Bangboo with skills and rarity.

Bangboo are combat companion robots in Zenless Zone Zero, backing up your Agents with an Active Skill and an attribute-specific Additional Ability. This page lists every Bangboo with S/A rarity, attribute and the faction pair-up condition that unlocks its Additional Ability.

Which Bangboo is the strongest in Zenless Zone Zero?

No official source publishes a damage percentage for any Bangboo’s Active Skill or Chain Attack — we checked all 40 in the official data. So we do not rank Bangboo by damage. What is actually published is the Additional Ability activation condition (38 of 40) and its value at each star level (24 of 40) — those are the numbers worth trusting. The right way to choose: read the activation condition and take the one that matches the squad you already play, rather than chasing a one-size-fits-all ranking.

What is a Bangboo and how do I get one?

Bangboo unlock via the permanent "An Outstanding Partner" Boopon channel (pre-select an S-Rank), the Signal Shop using Bangbucks for an A-Rank, or story missions (Bagboo is free). Level and Star are upgraded at the Turbo Remodeling Shop on Sixth Street.

What is a Bangboo? Their status and body types in Zenless Zone Zero

Bangboo (邦布) are small mechanical companions with genuine personalities of their own, first built by "the one who brought the sun" — Marcel Group's founding CEO and one of the earliest Hollow Hunters. They started out as rescue units guiding survivors out of dangerous Hollow interiors, then gradually grew into all-purpose helpers found across New Eridu, from factory floors to everyday city life.

Most Bangboo communicate through a signature cry that sounds like "Wungna" rather than human speech, and residents rely on a translator device to understand them — though a few, such as the ones serving alongside police units, speak plainly. Legally they sit in an odd middle ground: unlike Smart Constructs, Bangboo have never passed the "Forbidden Test" required for citizenship, so they are not counted in the population, and damaging one is treated as property damage rather than assault — even though they hold jobs, quit jobs, and show real emotion like anyone else. In Roscaelifer, the Season 3 setting, Bangboo are instead granted equal citizenship, make up roughly 60% of the population, and even hold a council seat with a voice in local government.

Physically, most Bangboo are small with a soft, almost squishy shell (one in-game story reveals it is made of silicone); a rarer "tall" body type introduced in Season 3 stands about twice the usual height and speaks more clearly. Instead of eating, they recharge at Bangboo charging stations scattered around the city.
