How Pity Works in Chaos Zero Nightmare (Soft & Hard Pity, 50/50)

How the Rescue gacha pity works in CZN: base 5★ rate, soft pity around pull 58, a hard guarantee by pull 70, the 50/50, and the crystal cost per pull.

Pulls in Chaos Zero Nightmare are called Rescue. Understanding pity lets you plan exactly how many pulls (and how many crystals) you need for the combatant you want.

The three numbers that matter

  • Base rate — every pull starts at roughly a 1% chance for a 5★.
  • Soft pity (~pull 58) — once you cross this point the 5★ rate climbs steeply on every pull, so most 5★ actually drop in the high-50s to 60s rather than at the very ceiling.
  • Hard pity (pull 70) — if you somehow have not seen a 5★ yet, pull 70 gives you one for certain.

The 50/50

Landing a 5★ on a limited Rate Up Rescue banner is a coin flip: 50% it is the featured combatant. If you lose it, your next 5★ is guaranteed to be the rate-up unit — so the true worst case for a specific combatant is two 5★ pity cycles.

What it costs

Each pull costs about 160 crystals. Multiply by the pulls you need and you have your crystal budget. The Pity & Pull Planner does this math for you — enter your current pity and crystals to see whether you can reach the guarantee.
